Benefit Do The Bright Thing Makeup Kit

Benefit Do The Bright Thing Makeup Kit
Recently, my Mum went on a trip to Ireland and on her return decided to pick up a little airport gift for me! How sweet?! When I opened it and saw this makeup kit by Benefit, I was over the moon! This kit features 5 mini versions of highly popular Benefit products, a few of which I've been dying to try for a long time.

The Benefit Do The Bright Makeup Kit comes packaged in a cardboard box that in time will come in very handy for storage purposes. It has a flip up top to open where some instructions or 'tips & tricks' as Benefit likes to call them are attached, showing you how to apply each product featured. If you're a makeup newbie, this is definitely helpful.

The first product to catch my eye was obviously High Beam. Something I've been after for a very long time. High Beam is a gorgeous pink liquid highlighter that adds a stunning radiant but subtle glow to the cheek & brow bones. Having only ever used powder highlighters before, I found this to be a lot easier to work with and it just adds a lovely dewy highlight to the skin. I adore it. This will definitely be included in my holiday make up bag!

Another stunning product is the "that gal" brightening face primer. This is just beautiful. It brightens and evens out my skin tone so well that I'm seriously considering leaving the tinted moisturisers/bb creams at home when I go on holiday.

These days, I'm not really one to use a powder due to my dry skin. However, Dandelion is a little different. As a brightening face powder, I find it doesn't emphasise my dry skin or give a cakey appearance like many other powders can. When used on the cheeks it can be a nice soft replacement for a blush or it can be used all over as a finishing powder. Included in the box is a lovely soft, natural-bristle brush to use with Dandelion and I didn't think I would like it, but I do.

Now that Autumn is well and truly upon us, it also means I'm likely to start wearing eyeliner along my waterline again. I don't know why, but to me it's a cold weather thing, I hate wearing it in summer! And seeing as I'm running low on my fave Urban Decay Glide On Eye Pencil, it was the perfect timing to get my hands on the BADgal waterproof liner. It's just as good as the Urban Decay offering, super creamy, pigmented and easy to apply without any dragging.

The last product is probably my least favourite. Shock horror. Yes, the highly popular They're Real! Mascara is my least favourite. I have owned a full size version of this mascara before and I just didn't really get along with it. While I found it to be quite volumising, it would also go really clumpy and look nasty. Roller Lash, in my opinion, is a much better mascara! I love it.

Have you tried any of Benefit's makeup kits? What are your thoughts on them?
