MAC Brave Lipstick

MAC Brave Lipstick

Say hello to the most gorgeous lipstick ever; MAC Brave. The newest addition to my MAC lipstick collection, I've been eyeing up this gorgeous rosy pink shade for some time. I picked this up when buying MAC lipsticks for my two lucky giveaway winners and I told myself I wouldn't buy one for me but you know who can resist a new lipstick, let alone a MAC lipstick? Not me, anyway!

MAC Brave Lipstick
MAC Brave - £15.50

Brave has a Satin finish and is described by MAC as a 'pink-beige with white pearl' shade. It's a really gorgeous low maintenance every day lipstick that is suitable for all seasons and suits most skin tones, it's most definitely a 'your lips but better' shade. If you like the nude 90s lip or the Kylie Jenner look, this is one of many shades that are recommended. When paired with MAC Soar lip pencil, it creates an absolutely stunning lip. I really wish I picked up Soar now, I have to buy it soon! However, I'm going to try this out with Rimmel East End Snob as I think the two would compliment each other well.

Satin finish lipsticks are semi-matte so they are pretty comfortable to wear and last reasonably well. I would say around 3-4 hours dependent on whether or not you eat/drink in that time. This is perfect for me as I'm not one who enjoys having to re apply lipstick throughout the day. Due to it's semi-matte formula, it can emphasise flaws such as dry patches and lip lines so I definitely recommend using a lip scrub before application to prepare your lips.

Like all MAC lipsticks I've tried (bar Ruby Woo), Brave has a gorgeous, smooth, buttery texture and applies well, a few swipes gives a gorgeous opaque finish. I'm so glad I finally got my hands on this little beauty!

Have you tried Brave?

  5. Brave is such a gorgeous colour but I always ignore it for the bolder shades MAC has to offer. I was thinking it would work perfectly with Rimmel London Eastend Snob so maybe I should buy Brave just so Eastend Snob can have a friend...I'm really just looking for any excuse to buy it now!

  6. Looks like a shade I need to add to my collection! I love Pink Plaid, which is a beautiful matte dusty pink, but I imagine this may be a slight bit kinder and forgiving on my always awfully dry lips!
